Phishing : Gmail Scams

The art of creating phishing schemes are mastered by some hackers who have attained a P.hd in it. Even the best of the best technologically savy users fall for it because of the fake documents created by the hackers seems almost realistic and above all quite legitimate which sets up the trap for them.
This is where the ‘scam’ starts. Thanks to these professional hackers who have been successful in implementing such scams. A very popular website ‘Netflix‘ was subject to such scam where unauthorized links were sent to the users of Netflix and on opening the links they were taken to another unknown Netflix site which asked the user id, password, card number, social security number and other such personal credentials which allowed these hackers to access the credit card number, debit card number, net banking passwords and other such banking related transaction identities.
The most disturbing part of this professionally conducted scam is that the location and source of the link is unavailable once you have entered all your credentials. People also have the tendency to keep the same id’s and password for other websites such as flipkart, amazon, Gmail and other such sites so indirectly all the accounts are being accessed by these Hackers and in this era of digital media a person’s personal finance is exposed to them digitally which is even more disturbing.
The hackers did not stop after the Netflix scam. Their next target were google users. Thanks to these professional hackers who successfully managed to create fake documents which lured the users to give all their credentials to these hackers. The site was created by them by utmost perfection and most funny part was it was created without any loopholes. And since google has many users. At least 4 out of 10 users fell into their trap and exposed all their personal finance belonging digitally.
And another interesting part of the scam was that the link sent by the hackers were shown as that someone from their personal contact had sent them which even lured more the users to open the fake link. Now almost every family in the household has a google user, the following precautions must be taken by them.
1. A single verification process invites more trouble for the users to get their account hacked. It’s always better to go for a two-verification process.
2. A password must be uncommon and so strong that these hackers dont even stand a chance to enter into your account.
3. The most uncommon thing among people that is common sense must be applied by these users and should not fall easily in these phishing schemes.
They should remember the proven true fact that precaution is always better than cure.
